Support for Military Council Defectors by People's Goal

In February, within Karen State, soldiers Nyan Shwe Oo (Private, TATA-××××69) and Aung Lin Naing (Private, TATA-××××47), formerly part of Military Council No (75) Infantry Battalion within KNU Brigade (3), defected to the people's side, armed with full weapons and ammunition. The KNU Brigade (3) warmly received these two soldiers and facilitated their transportation to liberated territories.

Soldier Nyan Shwe Oo recounted his coerced enlistment shortly after his release from prison in 2022. "I was freed from prison in 2022... One night, I found myself drunk and asleep at the station, only to wake up the next morning in the recruitment army... Despite my objections, I found myself unable to refuse."

Additionally, citing internal inequalities and oppression within the military council army, both soldiers fled, seeking refuge with the people's cause.

People's Goal extended a warm welcome to these two military council defectors upon their arrival in liberated areas, ensuring their immediate provision with food and essential social support.

In 2024, two captains, one warrant officer, three sergeants, two second sergeants, and eight soldiers, totaling nineteen members of the Joint Military Council, along with one Deputy Superintendent of Police and three police lieutenants, were embraced and supported by People's Goal, with their basic needs catered to.

For members of the military council seeking to defect, reaching out to the nearest revolutionary forces or contacting the People's Goal Telegram channel at https://t.me/PeopleGoal or via Viber at +66 94 652 9985 can provide the assistance needed.
